Surprise! Carrie Underwood is at the 2024 CMA Awards! The 41-year-old singer made a special appearance on stage at the country music awards show on Wednesday night (November 20) held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.

Hosts Luke Bryan, Lainey Wilson, and Peyton Manning first introduced Cody Johnson for a solo performance of “I’m Gonna Love You,” and after he started singing the song alone, Carrie walked out on stage singing the second verse. In-between lyrics, Cody, 37, gave Carrie a special shout-out for joining him on stage. “Yeah, that’s Carrie Underwood!” Cody said as the crowd cheered again.

After their performance, Carrie and Cody took a bow and shared a hug as the crowd gave them a standing ovation. Carrie‘s appearance was a surprise for the country music stars in the audience as well as for viewers since she was not on this year’s list of performers and she skipped the red carpet.
