Prince Harry has been dealt a second snub by King Charles, after his father insisted he was too busy to meet with him during his UK visit.
In a second blow, just hours later, the King announced a ceremony to celebrate his son William taking charge of Harry’s former helicopter regiment next week.
It was officially confirmed that William would take charge in August 2023. Harry, 38, arrived in the UK from California on Tuesday, May 7, but his spokesman confirmed that his dad had made him aware that he did not have time to meet up.The Prince's representative said: “It unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme.” Harry arrived to take part in celebratory events marking ten years of his Invictus Games, which he founded in 2014.
Meanwhile, the King was busy welcoming Fiji’s Prime Minister to Buckingham Palace. Just hours later, the King confirmed that next Monday he will attend a ceremony to announce William, 41, as Colonel-in-Chief of Harry’s former regiment, Army Air Corps.
