Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 'in difficult position' over King Charles' Balmoral invite

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could find themselves in a tricky situation over an invitation from King Charles to join the Royal Family at Balmoral, according to an expert.

Members of 'the Firm' traditionally spend their summer holidays at Balmoral. It's anticipated that King Charles will extend an invitation to Harry and Meghan to visit the Scottish Highlands retreat this year, as it's customary for the monarch to invite family members to stay during the holiday period.Balmoral was a staple of Harry's royal childhood, and he was there in August 1997 when he received the devastating news of his mother Princess Diana's death following a car crash in Paris.

However, during her tenure as a working royal, Meghan only made one trip to the Aberdeenshire estate - in 2018 with the Queen, just months after she and Harry were married.

Royal expert and author Tom Quinn suggests that an invitation to the retreat could pose a "difficult" situation for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. "If the invitation becomes a real invitation and it is almost certainly to do that - both Harry and Meghan will find themselves in a very difficult position," Quinn told the Mirror. He added: "They are obsessed with their public image and will be aware that it will look really good if they swallow their pride and came back to the UK."But Meghan still wants that apology from William and King Charles and Kate so it's going to be difficult for her to swallow her pride, but on the other hand she won't want to appear to be holding a grudge because that will lead to criticism and she really hates criticism.
