Prince Andrew might be looking to live out his days in a self-imposed exile abroad, much like his grandfather, according to his biographer.
Royal author Nigel Cawthorne has said it seems "inevitable" that the Duke of York will have to leave Britain due to the backlash from his latest scandal involving an alleged Chinese spy.
Reports suggest that Andrew, 64, is considering the Middle East as a sanctuary for a fresh start, especially after Princess Beatrice's recent trip to Abu Dhabi.
Speaking exclusively to the Sunday Express, Mr Cawthorne mentioned: "France and Switzerland are also options, but wherever he settles, he's destined for a very low-profile existence, well out of public view." He continued: "Sadly, if the Duke does seek haven abroad, he will find himself following in the footsteps of his grandfather and it would be an absolute tragedy if history repeats itself." Prince Andrew's grandfather, also named Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark, was exiled from Greece in 1922 after defying a military order during a coup attempt.
