A primary school in Oldham has closed after two staff members tested positive for coronavirus. Roundthorn Primary Academy will shut for at least two weeks due to staff shortages and to allow a deep-clean to take place at the school.
In a letter home to parents on Tuesday (March 17), executive principle John Taylor confirmed that two members of staff had tested positive for COVID-19.
Other members of staff are showing symptoms and are self-isolating at home. In full, the letter said: "It is with regret that we must close the school today for a period of at least 14 days.
