If you missed out on your Pret fix during lockdown then we have some good news. The coffee chain is slashing the price of hot drinks from today (July 15th), with the price of hot food to be reduced from July 17th.

This is because VAT drops from 20% to 5% on meals, accommodation and attractions for the next six months, following an announcement by Chancellor Rishi Sunak in last week's mini budget.

Posting on social media, Pret said: ‘We’re passing back temporary VAT savings to our lovely customers. So over the next few days you’ll notice lower prices on your favourite coffees, hot food and a few other treats.

Cheers!’ This means you can pick up a takeaway latte for £2.40 instead of £2.75, while an eat-in tuna mayo baguette will cost £3.15
