Burton, 64, received 14% of the votes, while Richards, 46, only got a measly 3%, Mediaite reported, despite stepping into the coveted role as Alex Trebek’s successor.But the poll results might not be a surprise to some who wanted Burton to host the iconic game show — despite low ratings during his week which competed with the Olympics.When Richards and co-host Mayim Bialik, the 45-year-old “Big Bang Theory” actress, said last week that they would be the new faces of “Jeopardy!” post-Trebek, diehard fans did not take it well.Meghan McCain tweeted, “Why couldn’t they just give it to @levarburton like literally.
