Five police officers who shared “explicit and highly offensive” fake porn images of the Royal Family were sacked today. They were part of a Hampshire Police unit which had a “toxic” attitude towards ethnic minorities, immigrants and women.
The fake Royal snaps were sent to a WhatsApp group shortly after the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018. A tribunal heard the officers in the chat were all members of the force’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit in Basingstoke.
They were caught using inappropriate language after their office was bugged by the professional standards department. The officers made homophobic and sexist remarks and referred to the only black member of the team using slavery terms.
