Brits were pictured ignoring government lockdown rules by gathering in parks and cycling in groups as the sunshine proved too tempting for some this weekend.
A Facebook post organising a mass bike ride near Hull sparked fury and Brockwell Park in London was closed on Sunday after Lambeth Council said that more than 3,000 people visited the park on Saturday, many of them sunbathing or in large groups.
There had been public confusion as to whether it was permitted to sit down and enjoy the sunshine, but the Prime Minister's official spokesman issued a message to say people should not be visiting parks or beaches to sunbathe as it goes against guidelines on 'essential movements'.
