An investigation has been launched into the 'sudden death' of a teenage girl in Swinton on Tuesday afternoon (September 5). Police were called out to the scene at a property on Ludlow Avenue by paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service at around 1pm to reports of a sudden death.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Local residents reported seeing a number of police vehicles and an ambulance descend on the street following the tragedy. An investigation has been launched by Greater Manchester Police to establish the circumstances surrounding the teenager's death with enquiries still ongoing.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At 1pm on Tuesday 5 September, Greater Manchester Police were called to an address in Swinton by colleagues at NWAS to a report of a sudden death. "Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a 17-year-old girl was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
