Travel rules were relaxed in some areas in England on Wednesday as the national coronavirus lockdown came to an end. But North Yorkshire Police have confirmed that motorists heading from Tier 3 areas into Tier 2 areas could now face "enforcement action" for non-essential journeys.
Officers have already been stopping vehicles along entry routes and the force is now warning those living in Tier 3 areas to stay away - unless they need to travel into a Tier 2 area for reasons such as work or education.Police will be out patrolling and will be guarding the border areas armed with safety camera fleets.
