Police issue update on murder investigation after man, 59, found dead at house

A murder suspect who was arrested after a man was tragically found dead at a house in Chorlton remains in custody to be quizzed by detectives, police have confirmed.

Police descended on Astbury Avenue at around 11.35pm on Sunday night (November 10) after a call was made 'regarding a concern for welfare'.

Sadly, a 59-year-old man was found dead inside a home. He has since been named as William Riddell, known as Billy to his neighbours.

A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of his murder. READ NEXT: Man jailed after security officer spotted him at shopping centre This morning (Tuesday), a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said the suspect remains in police custody for questioning.
