Police investigate 'suspicious' death after woman's body found at terraced home

An investigation is underway following the death of a woman at a home on a residential street in Ramsbottom. The emergency services were called to a terraced home in Harrison Street at around 5am on on Tuesday.

Neighbours described how police and paramedics descended on the street early this morning. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed a woman had died and an investigation into the circumstances was underway.

This evening residents and people who work in the area described their shock following the discovery of the body, and told how the street had been plagued by trouble previously.
