A man was pulled over by police with four children in the back of his car. He quickly found himself in custody after things 'snowballed'.

Greater Manchester Police said officers were drawn to the vehicle on Darlington Street East, near Scholes in Wigan, on Wednesday night (December 4) after noticing a broken rear light.

Checks later showed the car was being driven without tax and an MOT, the force revealed. After stopping the car, officers said they then saw four children, under the age of five, sitting in the back seat without being restrained with seatbelts.
