A man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was found seriously injured at a house in Tameside has been bailed pending further investigation, police have confirmed.

The woman is fighting for her life in hospital following the 'disturbance' on Currier Lane in Ashton-under-Lyne on Monday night (March 13).

Police found the 33-year-old inside a property with serious injuries. Officers 'acted swiftly' to make an arrest and a 39-year-old man was held on suspicion of attempted murder.
