Police issue update after man, 64, left fighting for his life following 'hit-and-run'

Police have issued an update after a man was left fighting for his life following an alleged hit-and-run in Salford. A 64-year-old man was left in a critical condition after being hit by a vehicle near McDonald's on Bolton Road, near the border of Pendlebury and Swinton, at around 6.15pm last Thursday (November 2).

He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. A 32-year-old man was arrested the following day, on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

In an update issued today (November 7), a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson confirmed that the man arrested has since been released on bail, pending further enquiries.

The 64-year-old man remains in hospital for further treatment.
