A teenager who was arrested after a 15-year-old boy was found unconscious in a park in east Manchester has been bailed, police have confirmed.
Officers were called to a 'disturbance' in Philips Park at around 9pm on Sunday night (April 23). They found the 15-year-old boy unconscious having suffered serious injuries.
Police believe he was hurt in a 'targeted attack'. A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm. READ MORE: Join the FREE Manchester Evening News WhatsApp community In an update issued this morning, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson confirmed the boy had been released on bail pending further enquiries.
On Monday morning, two forensics tents were in place and an area of the park at Bank Bridge Meadow was taped off. Crime scene investigators were pictured placing evidence markers on the ground near an area of woodland.
