An investigation is continuing following the death of man on the M62 with a driver arrested on the scene given bail by police.
The man - aged in his 30s - was struck by a car on the motorway between junction 11 for Eccles and junction 12 for Birchwood just after midnight on Tuesday (September 19).
He was tragically pronounced dead on the scene. A 25-year-old man - who remained at the scene - was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
In an update issued today (September 21), Greater Manchester Police said he has since been released on bail while investigations continue.
