Police were photographed outside a Manchester city centre hotel today after reports of an assault. Greater Manchester Police confirmed its officers were called to the five-star Hotel Gotham on King Street at around 9am on Sunday morning.
It followed reports of an assault and GMP said a man was later detained at the scene. Witnesses who saw the drama unfold on King Street reported at least three liveried GMP vehicles at the scene and said it took a number of officers to detain the man.
One witness told the Manchester Evening News: "Someone was arrested and put in the van. It took five police officers to get him in the van." Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers were called to the hotel at 9am after reports of an assault.
The force said the situation was ongoing, but confirmed a man was detained at the scene. No further details have been revealed, but GMP reported no serious injuries.
