Rock Hall, in Moses Gate Country Park, was originally built in 1807 for the paper-making Crompton family, but has lay empty for the past few years.
The Grade-II listed building has become a shadow of its former self but a charity is now hoping to be successful in a £99,600 National Heritage Lottery Fund bid to restore Rock Hall to its former glory.
Banana Enterprise Network have expressed an interest in taking on Rock Hall and sympathetically expanding it back to its original size, incorporating a café, shop, wedding venue and heritage room,
