Piers Morgan warned that the news that colleague Kate Garraway's husband waking up was "not as positive a story" as initially believed.
The GMB presenter issued a clarification after it was revealed at the weekend that Derek Draper had come out of his coma. Kate said that her husband Derek has opened his eyes and started to regain consciousness after doctors took him out of his induced coma, but he is still in intensive care.
