Piers Morgan has defended Will Smith after he slapped Chris Rock on stage during Sunday night’s Oscars ceremony in Hollywood.The presenter, 56, admitted he felt “moved to defend” the actor and criticised what he calls “an overly sensitive snowflake society”.
Will, who won an Oscar for his role in King Richard later that evening, took offence to comedian Chris’ joke about his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith and climbed on stage to slap the Oscars host before returning to his seat.
Now, Piers has insisted that he also would have felt compelled to protect his wife once he noticed she was hurt by the apparent mocking of her alopecia.
