Will Smith has resigned from Hollywood’s Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences after slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars.The 53-year-old has said his actions were “shocking, painful and inexcusable” and that he has “betrayed the trust of the Academy”.
During the awards ceremony last Sunday, the actor strode up to the stage after Rock made a joke about the appearance of his wife Jada.
