And now, it's been confirmed he will not be returning next week after the co-hosts' usual Friday break.Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, who present the show on Fridays, are due to take over presenting duties as Holly Willoughby and Phil take their scheduled Easter break reports the Mirror.Earlier in the week, Alison filled in for the 60-year-old presenter on Monday and Tuesday, with The Masked Singer host Joel Dommett stepping into Phillip's shoes on Wednesday and Thursday.
During an ad break on Thursday, the show revealed that Alison and Dermot will replace Holly and Phil during the two-week Easter break.In the announcement, the regular Friday presenters appear in a flashback clip in the This Morning studio.Fans of the show were thrilled to see Joel fill in for Phil this week and took to Twitter to praise The Masked Singer host.One pleased fan wrote: "Well done to Joel on the past 2 days on #ThisMorning He was brill!""Isn’t Joel a breath of fresh air #thismorning," another said while a third added: "I’m liking Joel Dommett on This Morning. #ThisMorning."#ThisMorning oh how I adore @joeldommett on the show.
