Phillip Schofield will be returning to This Morning later this month, it has been confirmed.The TV presenter, 60, has been absent from the ITV daytime show over recent days while his brother Timothy Schofield's court trial took place.Timothy was found guilty of sexually abusing a teenage boy over a period of three years, it was announced on Monday.
Phillip was absent from This Morning last week, with Alison Hammond and Joel Dommett filling in for him, and will remain off work for the next two weeks, along with co-host Holly Willoughby, as they enjoy their scheduled Easter break.
Phillip will make his This Morning return on Monday 17 April following his three-week absence, the Mirror reports. A source also told The Sun: "Phillip is on pre-planned leave and is due to return after the Easter holidays." Phillip released a statement on Monday evening after his brother Timothy Schofield was found guilty of sexually abusing a teenage boy over a period of three years, where he stated he "no longer has a brother".The TV star shared the message on his Instagram Stories.
Phillip's statement read: "My overwhelming concern is and has always been for the wellbeing of the victim and his family. "I hope that their privacy will now be respected." He added: "If any crime had ever been confessed to me by my sibling, I would have acted immediately to protect the victim and their family. "These are despicable crimes, and I welcome the guilty verdicts.
