The 61 year old, who has hosted the popular daytime show since 2002, could see his regular presenting slot on This Morning cancelled as regular guest host Alison Hammond's popularity continues to soar.
Alison, 48, who presents the show on Fridays with Dermot O'Leary, recently filled in for Phillip when he took time off due to his brother Timothy Schofield's court trial and viewers appeared to welcome the change.
According to The Mail on Sunday, ITV bosses have been monitoring social media to see how viewers react to presenters, with many appearing to be in favour of Alison.
