Phillip Schofield hits back at Dr Ranj over 'toxic' claim: 'I don't know why he said it'

Former This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield has spoken out about claims made by his ex-colleague Dr Ranj, who argued the atmosphere backstage on the daytime show was "toxic".

The 61 year old, who has admitted to having an affair with a “younger man”, revealed what happened the last time he saw Dr Ranj.

The resident doctor, who's full name is Ranjit Singh, had worked on the show alongside Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby since 2016 but later quietly departed.

Taking to social media earlier this week, Dr Ranj said that he “loved” and “valued” working on This Morning, but over time he grew “increasingly worried about how things were behind-the-scenes” and how people were being treated.
