Phil Jones is relieved to be back in training with the Manchester United squad after a succession of long-term injuries have kept him out of action.
The 29-year-old Jones has not played a competitive senior game for United since scoring in a 6-0 victory over Tranmere in the FA Cup in January 2020.
However, Jones was late last month involved in United's behind-closed-doors friendly victory over Burnley and has trained consistently with the first team since returning from injury in August.
Last Saturday, he continued his development with 90 minutes under his belt for the Under 23s in a 3-1 loss to Arsenal. United's No.4 is continuing his recovery programme after undergoing knee surgery last summer and is now moving closer to full fitness.
