A petrol station was taped off after firefighters responded to a 'diesel spillage' this afternoon. Fire crews were called to the incident at Morrisons in Chadderton, Oldham, at about 1.50pm today (Tuesday).

Images showed a fire engine at the scene, with the forecourt taped off. Firefighters contained the leak and remained at the scene for about 30 minutes. READ MORE: Awaab Ishak landlord said refugees were 'lucky to have a roof' and living with mould was 'OK and acceptable' In a statement, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 1:50pm this afternoon (Tuesday 28 March) we received a report about a suspected diesel spillage on the forecourt of a petrol station on Hollinwood Avenue, Chadderton. “The crew from Hollins fire station was quickly in attendance, and firefighters deployed specialist equipment to contain the leak and make the area safe.
