Anthony Elanga isn't the first player to be quizzed on a lack of minutes under Erik ten Hag and he certainly won't be the last.
The 20-year-old was a regular favourite of previous manager Ralf Rangnick last season, but Ten Hag's arrival and the subsequent signing of Antony has seen minutes diminish and stature within the first-team picture follow suit.
At this moment, the Swedish international is arguably the fourth choice down the right, with Jadon Sancho and Facundo Pellistri preferred in recent weeks.
Elanga recently spoke of his frustration while away with Sweden on international duty, detailing conversations with Ten Hag in which the Reds boss has identified what needs to be done between now and the end of the season. "When the opportunity comes, I just have to be ready to take it," he added.
