Peter Schmeichel has revealed that former Liverpool midfielder Steve McManaman used to terrify legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The clashes between the two English juggernauts often carry an edge but it caused more headaches for the Scot, in more ways than one.
During his time at the helm, Ferguson established United as a global powerhouse, overtaking Liverpool in the number of top-flight titles in the process.
McManaman faced Ferguson's side multiple times during his nine-year stint at Anfield, including the memorable FA Cup final in 1996 when the famous manager devised a plan of using Phil Neville a man-mark the Liverpudlian.
