Perth and Kinross Council was asked to agree a revised version of rules governing how meetings are conducted when it met virtually on June 23.
A revised set of standing orders was put before councillors for approval.A virtual committee meeting protocol has been created to supplement the rules outlined in the standing orders but not to amend or supersede them.Councillors agreed for the virtual meeting protocol to be used as best practice in a bid to “maintain public confidence” in PKC’s democratic decision-making process.PKC switched to virtual meetings as a result of the pandemic but it has not been without issues such as trouble with internet connections and people making deputations struggling to dial into a Microsoft Teams.
