Victoria Ekanoye ‘letting the girls have their day’ in busty dress amid cancer battle
Coronation Street star, 40, has been battling breast cancer since October last year, and has been candid about her health struggles with fans and the general public. The actress - who played Angie Appleton on the cobbles - was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ, with cancer cells developing in the milk ducts of her breasts, and underwent a double mastectomy in December to treat the disease.Earlier this year, she said she had to decide whether to undergo chemotherapy or hormone therapy treatment, as the fifth member of her family to be diagnosed with breast cancer.Appearing at the Pride of Manchester Awards to celebrate the city’s heroes last week, Victoria rocked a floor-length black gown with a cut-out section over her chest, covered only with three metal buckles which left little to the imagination. The star had her toned arms and collarbone on full display as she wore her brunette tresses in elegant braids tossed over her shoulders, pairing the look with sparkly silver earrings.Victoria rocked a natural make-up look as she posed for pictures on the red carpet, opting for a nude lip shade and bold eyeliner while beaming for the cameras.Speaking exclusively to Daily Star at the star-studded event, Victoria dished on the inspiration behind her incredible outfit. She said: “Well, I guess I’m allowing the girls to have a day of their own after everything that’s happened!“It’s been quite crazy.

Corrie star 'didn't know men could get cancer so young' before diagnosis at 19
Coronation Street star Jack James Ryan opened up about his battle with testicular cancer on Lorraine this morning (May 17).The Jacob Hay actor was 19 when he was first diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2017 but has since gone on to make a full recovery.Jack, now 24, explained that after finding a lump, he was referred to hospital, where he had surgery to remove his left testicle and to receive a prosthetic replacement. He also discussed how he had chemotherapy to ensure the cancer had not spread. The actor said he was shocked when he realised he had testicular cancer, saying he "didn't even know that could happen" to men when they are so young.Jack said: "I went in to have one of my testicles removed and I had a replacement put in there and then had a little bit of chemo afterwards - but because I caught it so early on, I was super lucky with the treatments."Lorraine then said being aware of changes to your body is an important way of knowing if you have cancer, before asking if Jack had any symptoms such as feeling tired.Jack replied: "To be honest I didn't have any symptoms and then I found the lump and thought this is serious."There is such a stigma with testicular cancer so making that first step to go to the hospital is nerve wracking and it's embarrassing but because I did it so quick it meant that the treatment was really great." He also admitted he would love it if Coronation Street bosses introduced a storyline where his character would get the disease so he could raise awareness about it.
