K.J. Yossman Fremantle U.K. CEO Simon Andreae has stepped down from the company, he confirmed today. He has been with Fremantle for eight years. In a company-wide memo, Andreae cited “challenges to my health” as part of the reason for stepping back. He has said he plans to focus his time on his health, family and a “smaller portfolio of projects.” A spokesperson for Fremantle declined to comment on Andreae’s successor, simply saying: “A replacement will be announced soon.” Read Andreae’s email below:

Nick Vivarelli International Correspondent Veteran Fremantle executive Amelia Brown has been appointed the new CEO of Fremantle U.K., replacing Simon Andreae who abruptly stepped down from the role earlier this week citing health reasons. Brown, who has been with Fremantle for 20 years, is the former managing director of its U.K. label Thames and has been a key creative on trademark Fremantle hit shows as “Britain’s Got Talent” and “The X Factor.” Fremantle in a statement noted that Brown has also been instrumental in strengthening Thames’ slate of programming and expanding the scripted production outfit into the world of reality television with shows like “Too Hot To Handle” for Netflix and upcoming entertainment show “Mamma Mia! I Have a Dream” for ITV. Her successor as MD of Thames will be announced soon.

“I’m used to being a chameleon but this was absurd,” Cara Delevingne told a Mipcom Cannes panel this afternoon as she discussed the many experiments she embarked on while making upcoming Hulu and BBC Three doc Planet Sex with Cara Delevingne, which has sold to 90 territories.

Speaking in Cannes at international TV market Mipcom on Tuesday, the 30-year-old said the Fremantle-produced show for Hulu and the BBC took her in directions she never imagined when offering to tell her personal journey with sexuality in a series. “I went into the masturbation seminar thinking it was going to be a classroom and I’d have a notepad, and instead it was a pink, leather gym mat on the floor, with six people going, ‘Well, take your underwear off. This is the lube,’” explained Delevingne. “I didn’t realize I was a prude. I think I’m a pretty hip, young, cool, down-with-anything kind of girl but I was like, ‘Sorry what? Sorry, no, absolutely not, I will not do that.’ But I kind of did everything I felt comfortable doing.”

Cara Delevingne is to appear at Mipcom Cannes discussing her upcoming BBC Three and Hulu show Planet Sex with Cara Delevingne.

She also shares her own personal experiences in the show. Delevingne, who serves as an executive producer on the project, will take part in a special showcase of “Planet Sex” in the Grand Palais’ Auditorium on Oct. 18, alongside Simon Andreae, CEO Fremantle U.K. and founder of “Planet Sex “producer Naked Television.
