TV star Patricia Brake has sadly died at the age of 79 after a long battle with cancer, her family has said.

British veteran comedy actress Josephine Tewson, who found her biggest success in her sixties starring in one of the 1990s’ biggest TV sitcoms, has died aged 91.

Actress Patricia Brake has died at the age of 79 following a long cancer battle, it has been announced. She had a career that spanned over 60 years, but she was best known for her roles in the 1970s sitcom Porridge.The star also appeared in soaps such as Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale. Patricia's son Jon McBain shared the news on Twitter, he wrote: "I can confirm that my mother, the actress Patricia Brake, died earlier today at the age of 79 after a long battle with cancer." Actress Lynda Baron, best known for the BBC sitcom Open All Hours, has died at the age of 82.

Lynda Baron has passed away at the age of 82, her agent has announced. Lynda was best known for her appearance on the sitcom Open All Hours, where she starred alongside Sir David Jason and Ronnie Barker as Nurse Gladys Emmanuel. Her agent of nearly 30 years Dawn French told PA: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved client Lynda Baron.
