Carrie Fisher's daughter Billie Lourd shares moving tribute six years after mother's death
Instagram yesterday to remember her late mother Carrie Fisher, who died in 2016 following a cardiac arrest on a transatlantic flight.The American Horror Story star marked the six-year anniversary of Carrie’s death with a sweet picture of the two of them when she was a little girl. In view of her 1.5 million Instagram followers, Billie opened up about the mixture of “grief” and “joy” she was feeling after giving birth to her second child after her mother’s death.The actress shares two-year-old son Kingston and new-born daughter Jackson with her husband Austen Rydell.Her mother Carrie was a film icon, notably starring as Princess Leia in the original Star Wars film franchise.Tragically, Lourd's grandmother and Carrie’s mother Debbie Reynolds died of a stroke just one day after her daughter’s death.“It has been 6 years since my Momby died (feels like 2 but also like 705 at the same time?),” Billie wrote beside the picture with her mother.“And unlike most other years since she’s died, this year, these past two weeks have been some of the most joyful of my life. “Giving birth to my daughter and watching my son meet her have been two of the most magical moments I have ever experienced. “But with the magic of life tends to come the reality of grief,” the actress continued. “My mom is not here to meet either of them and isn’t here to experience any of the magic. “Sometimes the magical moments can also be the hardest.That’s the thing about grief. “I wish my Momby were here, but she isn’t,” she added. “So all I can do is hold onto the magic harder, hug my kids a little tighter. “Tell them a story about her.Share her favourite things with them.Tell them how much she would have loved them. “For anyone out there experiencing the
