A major emergency service response was prompted after police were called to reports of a concern for the welfare of a women.

Several large knives, a suspected stolen motorbike and a 'significant' amount of drugs have all been seized in an early morning raid. Greater Manchester Police made three arrests after swooping on a property at Queens Park Road, Heywood, this morning (May 17).

Newly-installed traffic calming measures in Renfrew have caused a stir – with a councillor saying it has been “mayhem” since their construction.

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries following a crash in Heywood. The man, aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital following a collision on Queens Park Road just after 2pm.
