Cristiano Ronaldo headed straight down the tunnel while clapping Manchester United fans after scoring a hat-trick vs Tottenham - choosing not to claim the match ball himselfThe 37-year-old added to his first-half screamer and tap in with a booming second-half header to ensure Harry Kane's penalty and Harry Maguire's own goal meant nothing.Having been subbed off immediately after grabbing his third, there was no huge celebration from Ronaldo at full-time - and he headed inside while clapping Old Trafford fans.Although he didn't collect the match ball himself, Ronaldo is said to have asked a member of staff to do so as he turned his attentions to Atletico Madrid. One fan said in response: "Bro ain’t even stress for the match ball."With a second saying: "Ronaldo didn’t even bother to pick up the match ball. 59 hat tricks."A third added: "Ronaldo got too many match balls, didn't bother with his 59th today."With a fourth concluding: "Ronaldo ran down the tunnel without even going to get the match ball because jobs not finished."Is Ronaldo the greatest of all time? Mauricio Pochettino laying out strict term to Man Utd if he is to agree to be manager
Mauricio Pochettino has a strict term for Manchester United if he is to agree to become their next manager. The PSG head coach has been one of the top candidates for the role since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sacking last November. And the possibility of him joining the Red Devils this summer looks more likely than ever after his side collapsed to a 3-2 defeat in the Champions League against Real Madrid. Pochettino is facing the sack which would mean Old Trafford chiefs could swoop and not have to pay the French club compensation. As per the Daily Mail, to get him on board they must first convince him he is their number one choice. They claim Pochettino wants assurances from United that he is top of the pile of their options. So far it has seemed finely balanced between him and Ajax boss Erik ten Hag, who has recently begun English lessons and appears keen on the role. The former Tottenham manager is said to searching for a return to England where his family have remained while he has lived in a Paris hotel since January last year. Where would United finish under Pochettino? Let us know in the comments section. Premier League transfers no longer use fax machines after David de Gea howler
Manchester United to Real Madrid back in 2015, but the deal fell through due to a paperwork issue.Reports at the time suggested United had actually held up the deal due to problems with their fax machine, sparking suspicion that Old Trafford chiefs had come up with a cunning plan to keep De Gea at the club.Los Blancos swiftly released a statement on their website insisting they had done "everything necessary in every moment" to wrap up a deal for the Spain international, which would have seen Keylor Navas head in the opposite direction to Manchester. They claimed United did not agree to open negotiations until Monday morning, however the swap deal was "quickly reached" before contracts were sent to Manchester at 11:39am.Real claimed these contracts were returned eight hours later and sent back signed at 9:32pm, before the Premier League club agreed terms with Navas' agent at 9:53pm and entered De Gea's details in FIFA's electronic Transfer Matching System (TMS) at 10pm.Which deadline day transfers do you want to see happen today? Comment down belowNevertheless, the Spanish giants said they only received the documentation at 10:02pm - two minutes after the TMS had closed when the window for non-British European leagues had shut.Since the event six and a half years ago, Matt Wild, company secretary at Wolverhampton Wanderers, has revealed that while clubs still use TMS, fax machines are a thing of the past.He told The Athletic: “It’s all email and DocuSign now.
