Misty is always good for some comedic relief. After Yellowjackets‘ “Edible Complex” episode last week, in which Misty (Samantha Hanratty) and her fellow surviving soccer team peers eat deceased Jackie (Ella Purnell) in the wilderness, the stranded teens decided to distract themselves by throwing a baby shower for Shauna (Sophie Nelisse).

So many stars stepped out for the 75th Primetime Emmy performer nominees celebration on Saturday (January 13) at the JW Marriott LA Live in Los Angeles.

When it comes to describing young Misty Quigley, the overly zealous equipment manager on the high school soccer team, Samantha Hanratty says that «a lot of her stuff is extra.» The 27-year-old breakout star adds, «She can be a very heightened human.» And what goes down at the halfway point of  season 2 is an example of just that, with Hanratty revealing she was «quite giddy» when she read the script for «Two Truths and a Lie,» aware of where things were headed for Misty since the beginning of the season. During episode five, things are starting to get even more desperate for the young survivors in the past timeline. While the girls fight over what to do with Javi (Luciano Leroux), who was miraculously found at the end of the last episode and has since refused to open up about what happened to him, and Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) becomes more distraught over the impending birth of her baby, Misty finds herself caught up in a whole new problem after revealing a long-held secret about the plane crash.After Misty and her new bestie, Crystal (Nuha Jes Izman), are forced to empty the bathroom buckets, the two start confiding in each other about various secrets from their past.

Charna Flam Spoiler alert: This story contains spoilers from “Digestif,” the third episode of “Yellowjackets” Season 2, now streaming on Showtime. From destroying the team’s only way out of the wilderness in the past to conducting citizen detective investigations in the present, Misty Quigley’s ambitions are always an attempt to further her relationships — switching from being a misfit, and an unknowing laughingstock — and to become a vital member of the soccer team at the center of Showtime’s “Yellowjackets.” As played by actor Samantha Hanratty, in “Digestif,” teenage Misty outdoes even her Season 1 antics, with one particularly eccentric breakout moment. While the girls grapple with their latest decision, to feast on their late teammate Jackie, they prepare for the birth of Shauna’s (Sophie Nélisse) baby.

Season 2 continues to be breakout year for Sammi Hanratty, who plays the younger version of Misty, one of the surviving soccer team members stranded in the wilderness in the past timeline on. And the latest episode is just another showcase of her many talents, with the 27-year-old actress getting to channel Sally Field in an unexpected and darkly funny moment on the Showtime drama. After last week's "Jackie Feast," the young girls decide to distract themselves from what they've just done by throwing an impromptu baby shower for Shauna (Sophie Nélisse), who is getting closer and closer to giving birth.

Lauren Ambrose is revealed as adult Vanessa “Van” Palmer in three first-look images of Yellowjackets Season 2 released by Showtime. Liv Hewson played the character in Season 1 as a teenager.
