100 gecs have confirmed the cancellation of their 2023 UK and European tour.The duo, comprised of Dylan Brady and Laura Les, were supposed to embark on a 14-date tour run throughout the UK and Europe this October in support of their album ‘10,000 gecs’.Last month, emails went out to fans and ticket holders stating that the 100 gecs’ upcoming tour was cancelled. The duo did not address the cancellation until Tuesday (July 11) when they confirmed it on their social media pages.Taking to Twitter, 100 gecs shared a statement which read: “To our fans in Europe: we’re sorry to cancel our upcoming shows, but we’re physically and mentally worn out.

Jem Aswad Senior Music Editor One of the ironies about the rise of 100 Gecs — who have become poster children for “hyper-pop,” whether they want to be or not — is the fact that their hyperactive music, which is filled with lyrical and sonic pranks, changes direction every few seconds and has melodies that are like bubblegum pop through a garish Instagram filter, is being feted for its pretty undeniable brilliance. Critics slather over them, they signed a deal with Atlantic Records, were the subject of in-depth profiles in the New Yorker and the New York Times, and were even artists in residence at New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. While it’s not hard to imagine the hardly-serious duo of Laura Les and Dylan Brady doubled over with laughter when these things started happening, now it’s almost like the joke’s on them.

PC Music have announced details of their new ‘Vol. 3’ compilation, featuring Charli XCX, Clairo and Caroline Polachek among others.Arriving nearly six years after the label’s ‘Vol. 2’ compilation, the new record will come out on May 13.The following month, PC Music will host a special label showcase at the newly reopened KOKO venue in London.Others included on the album are Hannah Diamond, Tommy Cash, A.G.
