As Journey continues its stadium tour with Def Leppard and Steve Miller, two of its members have finally settled a legal dispute.

Journey’s Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon have called in a third party in an attempt to resolve their ongoing personal and legal dispute.At the end of July, the band’s keyboardist Cain filed a lawsuit against guitarist Schon while the band was on a co-headline tour in the US with Def Leppard, along with guests The Steve Miller Band and Cheap Trick.The suit was filed on grounds of frustrations over Schon’s “expenses related to the tour” including “budgeting and spending” of the band’s credit card over personal expenses.Since then, the band have cancelled their UK and Ireland 50th anniversary arena tour, which was due to run in October and November.Now, in a new Facebook post, Schon has offered his side of the story, and has revealed that the band have opted to bring in “someone impartial” to help smooth over their differences. “Anyone who follows Journey will know that Jon Cain and I don’t always see eye-to-eye on everything Or, sometimes, on pretty much anything,” he wrote.“Recently, Jon Cain made a number of claims and slanderous accusations about me and my wife – and I can’t stress enough how much it upset me and how wrong they are.

Journey have reportedly hired off-duty police officers to guard their dressing rooms on tour.Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain have been on bad terms since suing their former bandmates Ross Valory and Steve Smith, who were still Journey members at the time. After the pair left the group, Schon and Cain turned on each other.The musicians have been fighting over numerous things, including Cain’s decision to perform at Mar-a-Lago and Schon having his access to the band’s corporate American Express account barred.Now, a new report from Billboard claims that the pair went as far as hiring off-duty police officers to guard their dressing rooms while on tour last year.

Journey from 1977 to 1998 and sang on many of their most well-known hits, is attempting to stop his former bandmates from owning trademarks to the names of some of the band’s biggest songs.As Billboard reports, Journey’s two biggest mainstays – guitarist Neal Schon and keyboardist Jonathan Cain – hold the trademarks to many of the band’s hits, including ‘Anyway You Want It’, ‘Wheel In The Sky’ and ‘Open Arms’, through their Freedom JN LLC company,The trademarks covers the use of those titles on merchandise such as T-shirts, hoodies and other apparel, making it easier for Schon and Cain to sue anyone infringing the trademark by selling items bearing those titles.However, in a petition filed by Perry to the US Patent and Trademark Office on September 11, the singer argued that Schon and Cain’s trademark goes against a partnership agreement the trio signed requiring unanimous consent for any business relating to the trademarked songs, and that he had not provided that consent.
