The killers who murdered a 16-year-old boy as a brutal gang war spilled out onto the streets can be named for the first time.

A gang planned to murder their rivals following the killing of their 16-year-old leader in a revenge attack, a jury has heard.

police said they would deploy extra police officers to the planned vigil.In a statement posted on Twitter, police said: "We are making further enquiries to establish how many may be in attendance and also whether the event will go ahead."We will have extra officers in the area who will be working closely with youth outreach workers and other partners to engage with those attending."Brent Tchipenda, 18, appeared before a judge yesterday (Thursday) accused of murder.He also faces a charge of violent disorder.No pleas were entered during a short preliminary hearing at Manchester Crown Court.Judge Alan Conrad QC remanded Mr Tchipenda in custody.A trial has been set for July.
