Nine Inch Nails‘ Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor have wrapped up their recording of the forthcoming Luca Guadagnino film Bones & All.It had been reported that the pair would score the new project late last year. Now, writing on the official Nine Inch Nails Discord chat, Ross has confirmed that the soundtrack is done.“How about this for ‘soon’,” the musician wrote in response to a fan.

The Beta Band have been teasing some kind of reunion after appearing to be active on social media this past month.Formed in 1996 by Scottish musicians Steve Mason and Gordon Anderson, The Beta Band would go on to release three albums: 1999’s ‘The Beta Band’, 2001’s ‘Hot Shots II’ and 2004’s ‘Heros To Zeros’. NME journalist James McMahon, who has died age 44.McMahon was NME Features Editor during the 2000s, and passed from soft tissue sarcoma at Whipps Cross Hospital in East London on Thursday (November 14).A passionate champion of all forms of music, especially metal and indie, McMahon was fiercely committed to championing artists from a working class background.News of his death was shared by former NME editor Conor McNicholas, who wrote: “James was someone who really mattered – his words mattered. Ghost frontman and founder Tobias Forge for a whopping amount of money.According to a Discogs report, detailing the most expensive records sold in January this year, someone purchased an unreleased solo album from Forge for US$5,434 (£4237.95). The album is titled ‘Passiflora’ and per the listing, was “released” in 2008.

Ghost are working on a movie with “a concert element”, according to frontman Tobias Forge.Speaking to Metal Hammer, Ghost’s Tobias Forge revealed that the movie is currently in development, and that the band have already filmed two nights worth of concert footage during their recent concerts at the Forum in California – the second night of which included a ban on mobile phones to avoid leaks.While little else is known of the upcoming film right now, Tobias Forge told Metal Hammer that “it’s going to be a film with a concert element. So a lot of what you experienced [at the two Los Angeles shows] is going to be part of this project.When asked if Ghost’s upcoming film will akin to Metallica‘s 2013 cinematic concert film Through The Never, which included concert footage alongside a fictional plot starring Dane DeHaan, Forge replied: “In a sense that it’s a concert with something else combined.”The Ghost frontman also spoke of the two Forum shows, saying they were among the best he’s experienced in his career.

Lazarus, a new series from Cowboy Bebop creator Shinichirō Watanabe.Per a report from Variety, Lazarus has been picked up for released on Toonami, though a release date has yet to be announced. The upcoming animated series is currently in production with MAPPA (Attack On Titan, Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen) on animation duties.Also contributing to the series is John Wick series director Chad Stahelski, who Variety reports has “designed several action sequences for the series”.

Trent Reznor reunited with several early members of Nine Inch Nails for the band’s belated Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction celebration.Two years after a virtual ceremony for their initial induction, a live performance took place at Blossom Music Center in Reznor’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, on Saturday (September 24).There, Reznor was joined by Chris Vrenna, Richard Patrick, Danny Lohner, and Charlie Clouser, members in an early Nine Inch Nails line-up.The group – who haven’t played in Ohio since 2013 – performed six songs from their ‘Pretty Hate Machine’ era; ‘Sin’, ‘Wish’, ‘Gave Up’ and ‘Eraser’. Ricky Gervais will be premiering his new stand-up special Supernature on Netflix this month.The streaming giant has confirmed a May 24 release date for the forthcoming special, a show Gervais has been touring since 2020.The tour began before the coronavirus pandemic forced it to go on pause before resuming 18 months later.Discussing the shows with Deadline, Gervais said earlier this year: “I’m actually putting more in to the show to keep it fresh and this spate of gigs are the best gigs I’ve ever done. I don’t know whether that’s because I’ve been doing the same stand-up for longer than I ever have before and I keep rewriting it and keep folding the samurai sword.“If you do the same gig 50 times, it’s better than if you did it 10.
