Apple TV+ has announced premiere dates for its upcoming espionage series Slow Horses, starring Oscar winner Gary Oldman, and female-driven anthology series Roar, starring Nicole Kidman, Cynthia Erivo, Merritt Wever and Alison Brie. The dates were revealed Friday, along with some first-look images, as part of Apple TV+’s TCA presentation.

Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has drummed up quite a bit of chatter over its announcement that it will have a host for this year’s ceremony, three years after last having one. The news prompted a slew of speculation around who the host might be, along with no shortage of suggestions such as Issa Rae. After five seasons and 44 episodes, “Insecure” has come to an end. Issa Rae’s groundbreaking HBO series about two friends Issa and Molly (Yvonne Orji), navigating the ups and downs of adulting in South Los Angeles, saw each of them come out on the other side more confident, more mature and much more self-assure. “I mean, this is a journey of growth,” Rae tells ET about her character’s onscreen evolution. “So, if Issa’s in the same place as she was in season 1, then we failed.”

With just two episodes left before Insecure wraps up its five-season run on HBO, fans will get to go behind-the-scenes of the final season in the new documentary Insecure: The End.Series creator and star Issa Rae is seen getting emotional while addressing her cast and crew behind-the-scenes of the hit HBO series in a new trailer that debuted on Monday, via HBO YouTube.The documentary will debut on the HBO Max streaming service on Sunday, December 26 - the same day as the Insecure series finale, which airs at 9 PM ET on HBO - with the documentary airing on HBO Monday, December 27 at 10 PM ET.

Now noted as the first Black woman screenwriter to gross more than $100 million at the box office, Oliver had to pave her own way to Hollywood success when big studios provided no path. Starting with her introduction to the industry—producing and writing for Issa Rae’s The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl (and costarring as J’s work archenemy, Nina)—she’s been steadily creating platforms that depict Black women as quirky and fun—and centralize them in comedic roles.
