A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was found unconscious and seriously injured in the front garden of a house.

A police constable who responded to a 999 call which ended in a crash that left a teenager severely brain damaged told a disciplinary hearing he was 'justified' in breaching orders to remain within the speed limit.

A 'dishonest' Greater Manchester Police officer forged a GP sick note to get extra time off, a misconduct hearing was told. The chief constable of the force found Chloe Vose's actions amounted to gross misconduct and said she would have been sacked had she not already resigned.
