Opening arguments in a workplace civil case pitting actor Robert De Niro against his former executive assistant, Graham Chase Robinson, will begin this afternoon in a federal courtroom in Manhattan, with De Niro himself expected to testify today under direct examination by one of Robinson’s lawyers. 

Jordan Moreau Robert De Niro‘s company Canal Productions was found to be liable in the gender discrimination and retaliation trial brought by his former employee, Graham Chase Robinson, a jury ruled on Thursday. De Niro himself was not found to be liable. The jury ruled that Robinson should be awarded $1,264,285.72 by Canal Production for non-monetary and monetary damages.

A civil jury in New York City is set to begin deliberating today whether Robert De Niro abused and discriminated against his longtime personal assistant, Graham Chase Robinson, and whether Robinson misused funds from the actor’s company, Canal, and stole office property including millions of frequent-flier miles before she quit in 2019 after 11 years on De Niro’s payroll.

Robert De Niro is being accused of filing a lawsuit against former employee Graham Chase Robinson in an attempt to allegedly "strike first" and "beat her to the punch." In new court documents, obtained by Fox News Digital, Robinson included text messages allegedly sent between other employees of Canal Productions, Inc. Robinson's team alleges that once De Niro found out about Robinson's impending gender discrimination lawsuit, the actor moved quickly to file his own.
