Hollywood Cinema Production Resources‘ (Hollywood CPR) board of directors names Ashlee Hypolite as its new executive director. Hollywood CPR is a nonprofit that creates opportunities for employment and provides accessible workforce training for students from underrepresented communities.

LuckyChap (“Barbie,” the upcoming “Wuthering Heights”) adds veteran studio executive Milan Popelka as a partner, joining the company’s current partners Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara and Margot Robbie. Popelka brings over 15 years of experience as Chief Operating Officer of FilmNation and served as executive producer on many of the company’s most-acclaimed projects, including the currently Academy Award-nominated films “Anora” and “Conclave” as well as “Arrival” and “Promising Young Woman,” which was a LuckyChap production.

Amelia Dimoldenberg will return as the face of the 97th Oscars social media campaign, once again serving as social media ambassador and red carpet correspondent. Dimoldenberg will participate in multiple events throughout the awards season, including hosting interviews with nominees and talent on the Oscars red carpet. “We are thrilled to welcome back Amelia as our Social Media Ambassador and Red Carpet Correspondent to provide viewers with exclusive access to the Oscars,” said Academy chief marketing and communications officer Jennifer Davidson.

Oppenheimer ended the evening as the top-winning movie. The biopic about the man who created the atomic bomb earned seven Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor.Poor Things came next, with four trophies. The biggest honor that the film snagged was Best Actress, with Emma Stone beating out fellow favorite Lily Gladstone, nominated for Killers of the Flower Moon.The only other movie to collect more than one Oscar was Jonathan Glazer’s harrowing Holocaust drama The Zone of Interest, which won Best International Feature and an extremely well-deserved Sound Design win.Three of the four acting categories went to first-time winners.

Set Decorators Society of America has announced the winners of the SDSA Awards, recognizing excellence in the art of set decoration for films released in 2023. This year’s winners of the five categories included “Saltburn,” “Poor Things,” “Barbie” and “Asteroid City.” “Poor Things” took home the prize for both achievement in decor/design of a period film and best picture, with “Saltburn” winning in the contemporary film category for decor/design.

Eric Brevig and Greg Butler have been hired as visual effect supervisors at VFX and animation studio DNEG, the studio announced Thursday.Both Brevig and Butler come to the studio as winners of the Academy Award winners for best visual effects. Brevig won for “Total Recall” in 1991, while Butler won and Oscar and a BAFTA for “1917” in 2020.

For this year’s edition veteran programmer, Sudeep Sharma will act as interim 2022 ShortFest Director, with the planned maternity leave of PSIFF Artistic Director Lili Rodriguez.“Sudeep’s been an excellent collaborator, holding key roles at ShortFest for close to a decade,’” said Artistic Director Lili Rodriguez.

The first season of the web series will include Academy members John Leguizamo, Eva Longoria and Oscar-nominee Edward James Olmos (“Stand and Deliver”), as they discuss their personal journeys, culture and breaking down barriers in filmmaking.Leguizamo will lead the first episode as he explores his beloved New York City and maneuvering through the industry over his long career, also covering the topics of colorism and tokenism.
