On Thursday, series co-creators Dan Povenmire and Swampy Marsh announced that the new episodes will debut in the summer on Disney Channel and Disney+. “Since ‘Phineas and Ferb’ is essentially a celebration of summer vacation, summer is the perfect time to debut the new season,” the executive producers said in a statement to Variety.

Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, co-creator and executive producer of Phineas and Ferb, is set to executive-produce and voice-direct the upcoming 40 new episodes of the Emmy Award-winning series at Disney Branded Television. On the revival, Marsh is joining his longtime creative partner, series co-creator Dan Povenmire, who had been previously announced.

It was announced in January that the beloved animated show was returning for 40 episodes, with co-creator Dan Povenmire spearheading the revival. Marsh will now serve as executive producer and voice director on the new episodes. “Swampy is one of the brightest creators in animation and among his many passions is connecting and collaborating with creative people, whether it’s through writing, animation design, directing, music or acting,” said Meredith Roberts, executive vice president of Television Animation at Disney Branded Television. “He continually elevates their artistry, as well as his own, to tell the bigger and more entertaining stories for global audiences. We’re thrilled to be continuing our partnership and look forward to a long and exciting road ahead.”

A Phineas and Ferb revival is in the works as part of creator Dan Povenmire’s newly inked overall deal with Disney Branded Television.
