Christopher Vourlias Producer Ilya Stewart has launched an independent studio based in Europe that will operate on a global scale, working with international talent and focusing on English-language feature films and television series, Variety can exclusively reveal. Hype Studios is the new venture from Stewart, the formerly Moscow-based producer who in recent years has been a fixture at the Cannes Film Festival, where his collaborations with Russian auteur Kirill Serebrennikov, including “Petrov’s Flu” and “Tchaikovsky’s Wife,” have premiered in competition. Among the co-productions with American and European partners currently on Hype Studios’ slate is Zach Wigon’s “Sanctuary,” starring Margaret Qualley and Christopher Abbott, which premieres as a Special Presentation next month at the Toronto International Film Festival and was produced with Rumble Films and Mosaic Films, along with Charades. Also on the slate is Pietro Marcello’s French-language “Scarlet,” produced in partnership with CG Cinéma’s Charles Gillibert, which opened this year’s Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes and will receive its North American premiere at the New York Film Festival.

Netflix has set September 30 for the premiere of Entergalactic, the adult-animated music series based on the upcoming album of the same name by rapper, singer and actor Kid Cudi. The series hails from Kenya Barris and Scott Mescudi, better known by his stage name Kid Cudi, who also stars. The date was announced Wednesday during Netflix’s Animation Showcase at the Annecy International Film Festival. You can watch the date announcement teaser above. Entergalactic will showcase music from Kid Cudi’s album. The series follows a young artist named Jabari, voiced by Mescudi, as he attempts to balance love and success. Finding the latter brings Jabari a step closer to the former, when moving into his dream apartment introduces him to his new neighbor, photographer it-girl, Meadow, voiced by Williams. An explosion of art, music, and fashion, Entergalactic takes place in the only city that can handle all three: New York.

Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi‘s new Netflix project, Entergalactic, has a debut teaser, and it features an amazing cast!

Netflix has revealed the full voice cast for Entergalactic, the adult-animated music series based on the upcoming album of the same name by rapper, singer and actor Kid Cudi. The series hails from Kenya Barris and Scott Mescudi, better known by his stage name Kid Cudi. Joining Kid Cudi in the voice cast are Jessica Williams (Love Life), Timothée Chalamet (Dune), Ty Dolla $ign, Laura Harrier (Hollywood), Vanessa Hudgens (Tick, Tick…Boom!), Christopher Abbott (Kraven the Hunter), 070 Shake, Teyana Taylor (Coming 2 America), Jaden Smith (After Earth), Keith David (From Scratch), Arturo Castro (Yes Day) and Macaulay Culkin (American Horror Story). The cast was announced Wednesday in a teaser trailer on Day 3 of Netflix’s Geeked Week. You can watch the clip above.

It follows two best friends Val (Carmichael) and Kevin (Abbott), on the last day of their lives.

EXCLUSIVE: Catch-22 star Christopher Abbott is set to join Sony Pictures’ Marvel movie Kraven the Hunter, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the title role. While unconfirmed, sources say Abbott would play the film’s main villain, The Foreigner — one of Spider-Man’s bigger adversaries in the comics.

Sasha Lane (Conversations with Friends) Christopher Abbott (Catch-22) and Emma Laird (Mayor of Kingstown) round out the cast of The Crowded Room, Apple’s seasonal anthology series from New Regency. They join previously announced Tom Holland, Amanda Seyfried and Emmy Rossum.
