The Chase fans were left scratching their heads after spotting quiz queen Jenny Ryan in a throwback episode of BBC's Only Connect.The brainy bombshell, known as 'the Vixen' on ITV's The Chase, had previously showcased her quizzing prowess by winning the third series of Only Connect back in 2010, according to the Mirror. Before she became a household name on The Chase, Jenny flexed her intellectual muscles alongside teammates Dave Bill and Alan Gibbs as part of the Gamblers, clinching victory over the Epicureans from the fourth series.The "winners special" episode that aired on Monday 25 February on BBC Two brought back some serious nostalgia.

'Really sad!' Former Holby City star Lisa Faulkner speaks out on BBC decision to axe show
Lisa Faulkner, 50, has spoken out about the BBC’s decision to end Holby City for good back in March, after 23 years on the air.The former Celebrity MasterChef winner, who is married to the show’s judge John Torode, 57, admitted she was “really sad” to see the soap get axed, in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk. Lisa played Victoria Merrick on the show from January 1999 to June 2001.Victoria was a senior house officer who trained in cardiothoracic surgery and paediatrics at Holby City Hospital.Two years after joining the show, Lisa’s character was stabbed to death in her own home by the father of a patient whose life she could not save.The star appeared in 45 episodes of the show early on in her acting career, which meant it was a strange thing for the celebrity chef to hear it had been cancelled.Speaking about when she heard the news, Lisa reflected: “Yeah, it was really sad. “I think it’s such a great show and, for me and my two best friends…“You know, I met Angela (Griffin) and Nicola (Stephenson) on that show and we have been best friends ever since. “So to me, it’s been a really important show in my life,” she added.Apart from her job as a TV chef, Lisa is also known for her previous roles on soaps such as Brookside, where she played Louise Hope, and EastEnders, where she played Fi Browning.However, she’s also enjoyed some more recent roles, such as Murdoch Mysteries and BBC One’s The Girl Before.Speaking about her future in the world of television, Lisa explained: “You know, it’s really nice to be going up for auditions again, playing small parts in nice dramas. “It’s just been fun doing the auditioning again and getting the jobs.

John Torode, 57, was fortunate enough to meet Queen Elizabeth II on two occasions, having first met the monarch in 2009.The Celebrity MasterChef judge spoke to Express.co.uk about the "incredible" monarch whom he had the pleasure to meet at Buckingham Palace.John is known for being the face of BBC's MasterChef since 2005 alongside greengrocer, Gregg Wallace.Due to his highly successful cooking career, John has been given the opportunity to meet the Queen on two occasions.The MasterChef judge opened up about the "great honour" he felt meeting such a powerful monarch.John said: "The Queen, I mean, I suppose it's one of those great, great honours."The second meet, it was a private audience, which was for something about Australians, who were working in the UK and were high profile and so there was a lineup of Hugh Jackman, Jason Donovan, myself, it was just great!"It was really really interesting to meet her face to face and have a proper little chat."She’s an incredible woman who went and spoke to the 200 people in each room."He went on: "People come up to you and talk to you about how to address the Queen. It was just such an amazing way that it worked."I think I read that one year she had 580 official engagements, which is more than twice a day which is really quite incredible."John also recalled driving through the Buckingham Palace gates as it was something he never thought he would do.He continued: "The first time I met her was about 2009 and it was a sort of large gathering of around 600 people and you got moved from room to room, it was very formal."The most exciting thing was driving through the gates in my car."That was great.

John Torode, 57, famously burned a tea towel live on air as he cooked a traditional English breakfast in 2020 on This Morning.The Celebrity MasterChef host has spoken exclusively to Express.co.uk about why he is not "embarrassed" about what happened and why he thinks he dealt with the situation "quite well".Speaking about the incident, John told Express.co.uk: "It was very good TV, but I mean I suppose it’s something that happens when you work in professional kitchens you have to stay in control and not panic."You can’t lose control, you have to continue with what you’re doing. I mean, I also can’t be embarrassed because it happens."John was recreating a McDonalds McMuffin in April 2020 at his home and was appearing on This Morning via video call.As John began to toast the muffins he failed to notice a tea towel left on the hob had set alight.Hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby frantically tried to warn John but his cries were left unheard as the flames got bigger.Luckily, John finally spotted the fire and dealt with it very professionally, throwing it into the sink as his alarm began to ring in the house.Recalling what happened, John told Express.co.uk: "Again, you need to remember at that time we were in full lockdown."I had some camera equipment, which I'd had to set up myself inside my own home kitchen.
